Award winning dining in the Macedon Ranges

Updated: Feb 14

The secret is out. The Macedon Ranges is home to some of country Victoria's best restaurants. Kuzu Izakaya (Woodend), Tansy's (Kyneton) and Midnight Starling (Kyneton) have just been awarded one hat in the Age Good Food awards again. If you haven't been to any of them, do yourself a favour and make a booking. While they couldn't be more different, think modern Japanese vs classic French, they each offer an outstanding dining experience.

For incredible hand-crafted cocktails and tapas, locals will tell you to visit Miss M's Lounge in Kyneton. Don't just take our word for it, they've just won best cocktail bar in regional Victoria at the recent Golden Plate Awards. For more casual dining the Kyneton Hotel has been awarded best hotel dining, and Fook Shing, also in Kyneton, a highly commended award for best casual dining and best chef.

There are some amazing new additions for the local restaurant scene - the newly renovated and rebranded UUMM at Mount Macedon Winery is a true jewel in the crown. Mount Macedon Winery has been offering amazing dining experiences for a while now, however this new space is the icing on the cake. Featuring local and seasonal produce plus an outstanding wine list, UUMM should definitely be on your list.

Shirley, previously known as Laverne (pun intended), is offering a pop-up themed event series, that will surprise you every time, with new dishes and drinks. Keep up to date with their socials to see what they have planned.

The southern end of the Macedon Ranges has the newly renovated Gisborne Food and Wine co receiving fantastic reviews for casual dining and Steakout at the Telegraph Hotel is a fabulous fine dining option, also in Gisborne, perfect for lovers of a great steak.

Whatever your preference is for amazing cuisine, The Macedon Ranges has it all. From modern Asian, classic French and contemporary Australian, we guarantee you'll find some amazing hidden gems during your next visit.
