Pat & Nadine's 'backyard' summer wedding.

Pat and Nadine's March wedding was so fun and relaxed, it felt like a summer backyard barbeque, with all the elegance of a black-tie event. It is not easy to combine these aesthetics, however Pat & Nadine managed it seamlessly.

We don't often get a lot of local couples at Lawson Lodge, because if you live 5 minutes down the road, you don't always need accommodation for all your guests. There is something pretty special about waking up on your wedding day with all of your family and friends around you, sharing in every moment of your big day.

The 'first look' between the bride and groom is usually a touching and beautiful moment. Yet, for Pat and Nadine, it was the beginning of a day filled with laughter and joy. As Pat eagerly awaited his first glimpse of Nadine in her bridal gown, he was met with a surprise: one of his friends had donned the wedding dress instead, setting a lighthearted tone for their special day.

On a blisteringly hot day in March, Pat and Nadine's wedding day unfolded. Concerns of rain were swiftly replaced by considerations of how to stay cool. Guests were greeted with white market umbrellas, paper fans, and buckets filled with ice water as they gathered for the lakeside ceremony. Sipping glasses of sparkling wine, they enjoyed the stunning lake views while catching up with friends and family.

Pat, impeccably dressed in a custom-tailored suit with a green jacket and bow tie from @Ysgtailors, eagerly anticipated his first glimpse of Nadine. His patience paid off when she appeared, resplendent in a long-sleeved satin gown from House of Gowns, featuring a daring high leg split that highlighted her natural elegance. The ceremony, filled with deep emotion, culminated in a whimsical confetti release, symbolizing the start of their married life and the festivities to come.

Taking full advantage of the lovely warm afternoon, guests began the reception with lawn games and drinks outdoors, relishing the stunning views. Happy Camper fired up their ovens, dishing out their incredible wood-fired pizzas all evening.

The moving speeches brought tears to the eyes, and a personalized 'Taylor Swift' tribute from Pat and Nadine's niece and nephew sparked laughter, enhancing the beautiful feeling of love and family. It was evident that Nadine and Pat had surrounded themselves with wonderful people. As day turned into night, the festoon lights lit up the evening sky, creating a beautiful canopy for drinks and dancing. The DJ pumped up the tunes, and guests filled the dancefloor.

Pat and Nadine's wedding served as an ideal example of how to plan a beautiful wedding, with a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. In Nadine's own words, "It was truly the best weekend of our lives."
